They lie in wait, voracious feeders, on the foliage they sate
Their enduring spread, showed no concern for the gainless pests
We put them in a clade, our gaze on striking patterns the threat did fade away
To no climate could they be bound, we laid the crops for them to contrive their design
The osmeterium everts and casts a forked shadow.
Having outgrown it's need to repel, it spews forth the vile plume to signal the dreadful feasting.
Once emerged from the horns of paine, now evolved to live up to their name.
Once avoidant of the dark cornubation, metamorphose into a bountiful meadow.
From a rock in space to form the earth's bane; snarling
Those who to went to greet, are the virgin feast, waiting at its feet, midgut has its needs; gnawing
They cower down in fear, as the thorax twists, the baying within; monophagus.
The Predator was born
It's bulging mass a vessel to blight mankind, all legends lost in digestion, sustain the lands new possessor, we cursed their lack of prescience, they covered the face of the ground, so it couldnt be seen. They devoured what little we had left in front of us, until it was our turn.

Progeny Feast

When the opening arrived, their call to emerge.
Activated with only one task at hand; consume those with the most vitality.
Unable to guide themselves, they served as the fledgling meal.
The acidic secretions, make quick work of their dermis with no integument to save them.
The vociferous shrieks of the helpless observer in the knowledge it will also be their outcome.
Some even offer themselves as if there was a prospect of mercy, from the illustrious eating machines.
The sound of masticating, a small respite that their sufferer has at least expired.
But they continue, seemingly never to be surfeited.
Driven by the instinct for the next hunt and so they dine.
Undone by our own unerring spread.
The belltower becomes a hive of the neophyte devotees.
Hoping as always they will be the ones to be spared.
The zealots welcome the progeny feast

Lord of the Insect Order

Lord, this sign we see and must revere and without haste we obey.
But in your word, we had dominion over all that creeps the earth.
With sangfroid we relinquish our young to you and remain in awe at your magnificence, we shan't appear empty handed.
We do fear you and take up the cross as you desire and hope these delights please your heart.
Please cleanse us of our unrighteousness .
So your son once suffered to bring us you and we in this moment will suffer too.
We can only assume their satisfaction but I could have sworn one i,n the act of ingestion, showed signs of glee.
I would too upon receiving such rich blessings.
We man the towers and in your name the bells ring in the knowledge you are also rich in mercy.

The bellow came from the fiend and the assault subsides.
They all remain frozen and their skin begins to peel away.
The chrysalis revealed as they convulse and splash in the fleshy remains of those we allowed to be taken away.
Those jilted mothers take blades to their shells, an ineffectual act that brings no vengeance.
We exchanged glances as we acknowledge our pains
We exchanged glances as we acknowledge our pains
They lie in wait, voracious feeders, on our bodies they sate
Their relentless spread, showed no concern for us; the gainless pests

It was plain to see what was going to transpire as the twitching became more violent.
We barely had the time before we were caught in the act of collective mourning.
Is it a gift to look into the eyes of fate and welcome its grasp or is it better to not even hear it approaching.
The shell is cracking
The desperate turn to hiding as the pupa shed their coating
It will take more to quell their thirst as they enter the next stage
Their organs dissolved and recycled for a new purpose
The imaginal discs get to work in the protein soup
Your god's hideous creation, forever living on weak knees.
These heavens of torture, skies are pitch black with the plague of death.
Your lungs turn to dust, your god disintegrating, we die slowly.
In the breeding of a new killer; the Imago Predator
So the buds formed to flourish and carry the expansion of the most gratuitous horrors to erase man
However long we could have waited, the cavity came all too soon
The claws emerge and start pulling through the winged beasts, they seem unbothered by their terrified spectators.
Their tender sections still completely impervious to any of our resistance.
Their form now has escaped, the veins pour rich as the full span is realised and then each turns to gaze

Mammalian Effacement

The most efficient venators, each stalk their target with merciless precision.
There is no need to fight over a meal, we have made ourselves a wonderful reserve.
The new industry dominates the horizon, it knows nothing of torture and only serves the impulse to feed.
Nothing stands between them and their bounty
Nothing can be concealed from the compound eyes
Their proboscis infiltrates our captive skin and like nectar they drink our lifeblood, fluttering from body to body, erasing each life as they go.
No juices wasted, they scuttle across the piles of dry skin and bone.
Without emotion the horde persists unabated, not at all phased by the most powerful of armaments.
We scorched the lands and formed a barrier of flame, their wings emerged, there was nowhere left to run.
Our numbers dwindled, until there were none.
So my soul was sucked up through the insect spout.
I join the rest of my kind, in the creatures gut.

Parasitic Accession

The Predator hovered atop the mountain, the deathly silence as the gorging was complete.
With nothing left to eat, the call came to converge
Each one selects a mate, as they perch on the ground
They turned to face away and their abdomens joined
In their final act, they are fertilised.
They choose the fairest leaves to lay, continuing the cycle for world's anew.
Their alluring motions slowing as their balance gives way to gracefully wilt and decay
Alone it stands, surveying the fervent atmosphere, the landscape teeming with its new design.
Our purpose fulfilled, our mark on history no longer to be told.
It's purpose fulfilled, it's skin gives way to a new form, one bred to discover and sniff out worlds where we've planted our curses.
It prepares itself for a new odyssey in places we couldn't fathom.
The bellow once again came from the fiend and its movement subsides.
The rivers continue to flow and the breeze sways along its path.
Like we were never there at all.
The songbirds call and suddenly the kingdom seems complete.
Like we were never there at all.

Lonomia Pestilence
02:56
|

|
The scavengers emerge from the caves with trepidation to observe a new dawn.
They wander the empty streets once considered beyond the pale and make their homes in the husks we left behind.
With the balance restored, they lead their young to prosperity.
The valleys reverberate with their song and calls and so they return to a time once lost where they all have a place in the system.
The decomposers begin their work to enliven the soils.
All of our creations frozen like they were suspended in time.
But the Lonomia, a vestige of the hellish chapter, takes root in the blooming plains.
Their sufferers hemorrhaging and collapsing at their touch, with nothing to deter their spread.
Their affliction has no motive, they just exist to bring a pestilence.
Many are bound to make the same mistakes and they are left to putrefy.
The world adapts and continues on its orbit, but there it waits to effectuate more change.

The wormhole births the next genesis of universal suffering.
The mutant seeds take flight and blot out the sky.
Beyond the pull and to exoplanets beyond.
In the resulting twilight, the beast retires into its protective crust.
Its golden form shimmers from the dappled light as it breaks through the canopied horizon.
What fascinating wonders we have lost the ability to witness.
The overlord unfurls to present abject cosmic terror to worlds unknown.
It too ascends and follows the charge of its mutant offspring.
Floating through space it lies in wait for its sign to open its wings again.
The voracious feeders will spread once again.
